Seattle police kill suspect in officer slayings

I am glad this man resisted and was shot dead (of course I am bias having been in law enforcement) otherwise he would be free for years as the courts tossed all the legal games.

Comments about the article:

A very well written article that shows two very important sides among others: That parole needs review and that those who helped this murderer are going to be punished.

Wheels of Justice At A Crawl

A police officer committing this kind of crime is appalling, as it cast such a dark cloud over the working of decent and honest men of the fine law enforcement Organizations. Further I sure would like to know how here the wheels of justice slowed to a snails pace. This crime took place in 2007 and he just now (17JUL09) pleads guilty and to make it worse, will not be scheduled for sentancing until November 18. What went so wrong in the federal courts? But we know the federal justice system is missing hundreds of judges that have been held up in both the Senate and the White House- for many a year!

As for CNN & the Author, I made these comments:

There is no explanation of why there is such a delay in justice, the offense occurred in 2007, now in 2009 he pleads guilty. Wheres the why.

A Doctor by Choice, a Businessman by Necessity

Having personally been a billing & IT manager at a multi specialty practice I saw the money problems first hand. One of the biggest was the large/long time delay from billing till payment was received, our states Medicaid averaged over 60>180 days, Medicare was not much better and our ICD-9 coding was excellent. The other side was fighting doctor to place aged accounts in collection- in a timely manner. All that said the costs of a practice are huge and add the paperwork. Doctors fighting modernization is a big big hurt to cost reduction, to many are stuck in there ways. Just went to a fully computerized practice and no surprise it was a very young outstanding doctor who DID give great patient care.

Age Discrimination

A most important item of news revealing a grossest error of the Roberts' Supreme Court.

That employees now will have the burden of proof in age discrimination cases is just totally wrong of the Supreme court to have "Written Law" again; Congress must now act to correct this travisty of injustice. Glad to see that Senator Patrick Leahy, the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, agrees.
